Privacy

The short version: we only use your details to reply to you and, if you become a client, to build and look after your website. We don’t sell them, share them for marketing, or send you newsletters.

Who we are

Web Design Depot (“we”) builds websites for small businesses across the UK. It’s a trading name of Angus Finlayson, 1st Floor, 43 Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire, DN35 7AQ. We’re responsible for the details you send us. To ask anything about your data, email us.

What we collect

Only what you choose to give us:

Please never send passwords, card details or other sensitive information through the form or the chat. We’ll never ask for them that way.

Why we use it

We do this because you’ve asked us for a price or a website (taking steps towards a contract with you), and because we have a legitimate interest in keeping our site secure.

The chat assistant

Our chat assistant is an AI. It uses what you type to answer you and to fill in your details. Nothing is sent to us until you press “Send to the team”. If you close the page without sending, we don’t keep the chat.

Who else handles it

We use trusted providers to host the website, run the chat assistant and send emails. They handle your details only to provide those services for us, and aren’t allowed to use them for anything else. Some of them may process data outside the UK; where they do, it’s protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

We never sell your details or pass them to anyone for marketing.

How long we keep it

Cookies

This site doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies, so there’s no cookie banner. To stop spam, the form and chat use a security check from our hosting provider. It doesn’t track you or build a profile of you.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the details we hold about you, correct them, delete them, or stop using them. Just email us and we’ll reply within a month (usually much sooner).

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Changes

If we change how we use your details, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
