Work Prices About Get a fixed price

Terms

The short version: you get a fixed price before anything starts, pay half to start and half when you’re happy, and can cancel your hosting any time.

About these terms

These terms cover websites we build and the hosting we provide after launch. They’re written in plain English. When you pay your deposit, you’re agreeing to them, together with the fixed price we’ve sent you by email.

Web Design Depot is a trading name of Angus Finlayson, 1st Floor, 43 Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire, DN35 7AQ. In these terms, “we” and “us” means Web Design Depot, and “you” means the person or business we’re working for. To contact us, email us.

Your fixed price

We send you a fixed price by email before any work starts, saying what’s included. That price won’t go up. If you ask for something that wasn’t in it, we’ll tell you the cost and only go ahead once you’ve agreed.

All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). We’re not VAT registered, so there’s no VAT to add. Prices shown on our website, including the calculator, are a rough guide; your fixed price is the one in our email.

Paying

You pay half (the deposit) to start and the other half (the balance) once you approve the finished site, before it goes live.

Payments are made by card through a secure payment link. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your card details.

Timeline

Your site goes live within ten days. The ten days start when we have your deposit and everything we need from you: your content (or notes, if we’re writing the words), your logo and photos, and access to anything we need to connect, such as your domain.

If we’re waiting on you, the timeline moves with it. If we haven’t heard from you for 30 days during a project, we’ll pause it and agree a new date when you’re ready.

Changes before launch

You get a working preview to try on your own phone and computer, and two rounds of changes. Further rounds, or new features, are priced before we do them.

Cancelling a project and refunds

You can cancel at any time. If you cancel before we start work, we refund your deposit in full. Once work has started, the deposit isn’t refundable, because it covers the work already done. You won’t owe the balance unless you go ahead with the finished site.

If you’re buying as a consumer (for yourself, not for a business), you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of paying the deposit. If you ask us to start work within those 14 days and then cancel, we may keep a fair amount for the work done up to that point. This doesn’t affect your other legal rights.

Your content

You’re responsible for the words, photos, logos and other material you send us, and for having the right to use them. We’ll let you know if anything you send could cause a problem, but we can’t check everything.

Your domain name and your content belong to you. If we register a domain for you, it’s registered in your name.

Hosting after launch

The first year of hosting is included in your price and starts on the day your site goes live.

After that, hosting and looking after your site costs £90 a quarter or £300 a year (that’s two months free compared with paying quarterly), whichever you choose. It renews and is taken automatically from your saved card at the start of each period, and we’ll remind you before it does. It includes keeping your site secure and online, renewing your domain if we registered it for you, and two changes a month, each up to 30 minutes. Unused changes don’t carry over to the next month.

We may change the renewal price in future, but we’ll always tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you.

Cancelling hosting

You can cancel your hosting at any time by emailing us. Your site stays live until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and we don’t refund part periods. If you’re moving your site elsewhere, we’ll help you take your domain and content with you.

If a payment fails

If a renewal payment doesn’t go through, we’ll let you know and try again. If it still hasn’t been paid after 30 days, we’ll pause your site (take it offline, without deleting anything) until it’s paid, and then switch it straight back on.

Business email

We set up email on your domain with Google or Microsoft. The mailbox itself is a subscription you pay to them directly, under their own terms; we don’t add anything on top.

Our responsibility

We build every site with care and fix anything that isn’t working as agreed, at no extra cost. We can’t promise a particular position on Google or a particular number of enquiries, and we’re not responsible for problems caused by other companies’ services, such as your email provider or a booking tool you use.

Our total responsibility to you for any project is limited to the amount you’ve paid us for it. Nothing in these terms limits anything the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your project is the one in place when you paid your deposit. For hosting, we’ll tell you about any change at least 30 days before it applies.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
